Following the latest advice today from England Athletics the Isle of Wight Athletic Club is suspending training. Club competitions are also suspended (so for example the forthcoming Wessex League matches have been postponed).
This is until further notice – but rest assured that the club coaches, managers and volunteers will be keen to recommence training and club activities as soon as advice changes. We will keep in touch with the membership as and when this period ends – but we expect it to be until after Easter at the earliest.
Here is a link to the advice : (link: https://www.englandathletics.org/athletics-and-running/news/coronavirus-statement/)
Individual situations will vary, however, we do want to maintain a happy and healthy club, and we all know how important sport is in peoples lives. Although this announcement will be disappointing news for many we understand that keeping fit is really important – whether following a training plan from an IWAC coach or just running in the local park regularly.
On behalf of the club committee we wish you and your families a good break – and look forward to seeing you soon.
Simon Lewis – IWAC Chairman
